The Clayton Chamber of Commerce
is proud to have served the Clayton community
for almost 75 years.

Dear Members and Community Partners,

Over the past several years, the Chamber, like many other non-profit organizations, has faced numerous challenges. Since 2020, there has been a significant cultural shift in work and socialization patterns. Many businesses now operate in a hybrid environment, and business connections increasingly now take place virtually rather than gatherings in person. Economically, inflation has led many businesses to tighten their marketing and sponsorship budgets. Despite our best efforts to adapt and overcome these obstacles, we have reached a point where it is no longer feasible to continue operating in a way that provides our members and partners with the high level of service they deserve. After much consideration, we believe that closing the Chamber is the most responsible course of action.

We are incredibly proud of the work we have accomplished. For nearly 75 years, the Chamber has been a cornerstone of the Clayton business community, offering support, resources, and advocacy for local businesses, organizations and corporations. Our events, networking opportunities, and educational programs have fostered growth, collaboration, and long-lasting connections among our members.

The effective closing date for the Clayton Chamber is November 1, 2024. As an existing member of the Clayton Chamber, you will have access to the member benefits of the Creve Coeur-Olivette Chamber of Commerce, as well as our reciprocal membership with Greater St. Louis, Inc. Additionally, you may take advantage of the health insurance benefits offered through the Missouri Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber Health Benefit Plan (MEWA) will continue as usual until your membership anniversary date.

We want to express our deepest gratitude to all our members, volunteers, and business partners who have supported the Chamber over the years. Your dedication and commitment have been the driving force behind our success. We encourage you to continue supporting each other and the local business community as we navigate this transition.

If you have any questions or need assistance during this time, please do not hesitate to reach out. We will do our best to provide support and guidance as we wind down our operations.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

Sincerely,

Ellen Gale
